We are glad to announce the last phase of our third series Secondary schools Advocacy Project on Gender Equity and Curtailment of Sexual and Gender-based Violence.
As a peacebuilding organization of Peacebuilders taking action for a more peaceful and just world, our organisation has been taking action against the menace of SGBV as one of the steps considered necessary for the facilitation of sustainable Peace.
In the third Series, we got access to 30 Public Secondary schools and 50% of these Schools have been visited, we now look forward to rounding off this advocacy campaign. On the completion of the third series, our organisation would have visited 60 Public Secondary schools in Six LGAs.
However, at this junction, we would really like to appreciate our volunteers who are standing by the organisation and making sure this project keep sailing. Also, our supporters, those who have committed and still committing their resources to this remarkable adventure and life changing projects. We can never appreciate you enough.
It is important to remember that the goal of the sensitization project is to empower participants to take action to prevent SGBV. By providing them with information on the menace of SGBV, the importance of Gender Equity, resources, and support that help energise social inclusion, build an inclusive society where rights are respected and safety of the vulnerable guaranteed.
In our attempt to safeguard every child and young adult against the menace of Sexual and Gender-based Violence. We are excited to commence the second phase of our series iii Gender Equity and anti-sgbv advocacy.
As Peacebuilders, this is one of the many steps we are taking to ensure a peaceful and just world.
In the next couples of weeks, Peacebuilders at Renaissance Foundation for Peacebuilders will be visiting 17 additional Public secondary schools under Alimosho, Ifako-Ijaiye and Agege Local Government to educate the students at this schools on what SGBV entails, importance of Gender Equity, laws that Safeguard them against the menace of SGBV, where they can report cases of abuse to or get help, how to report and why it is important to report? These and many more are what we are discussing with the students.
We hope to break the cycle of abuse and demystify the myth around SGBV.
